Watching you Leave

So tiny yet large of life,

Curious seeker,

You loved,

Purely.

Quietly without complaint

Retreated inward

Slipping away,

Slowly.

Between wake and sleep,

I felt you bound-free

from half life to after,

Joyfully.

Your tiny stillness remained,

an empty shell

left for us,

to bid farewell,

And remember.

“Insight; our pets find our softest spots and reach into our hearts in a way we don’t let many people, even the smallest creature can tear us with their loss.
