Write your Name

Am2 Cmj2 Gmj2 Em2 Bm~Am | Am C G Em |

Write your name on a cigarette paper,

roll it up

I’ll smoke you later,

on, if, I’ve the time

or half the mind to sign on

your dotted line.

I find, I can’t define,

the fine line, I walk behind

with you.

There’s a crack in a hole that is appearing

above the line

that re-defines whos winning.

There’s a sign in the times

I was reading

that says when blind men lead the blind

who’s seeing?

Turn me down and I’ll call later

lost and found

in an elevator

caught between the floors it seems

with doors that pause for thought

between a thousand dreams

that fade from light to shade and

all that’s in between.

There’s a crack in a hole that is appearing

above the line

that re-defines whos winning

There’s a sign in the times

I was reading

that says when blind men see the blind

who’s leading?

~ Bridge ~

Write your name on a cigarette paper

roll it up,

I’ll smoke you later.

“insight; I originally made this song up when my son was a baby, he is now 17… so I felt it was time to actually write it down.  Perhaps I’ll record a clip of it one day too.

It’s played on guitar, standard tuning, finger picking with the chords in the verse played as 2nds.
