Her soft belly, furred, disguised the quiver
A tremble, sensed not seen, fluttered within her,
Four tiny movements pawed inside
Our smokey grey feline bride.
Blissful she purred them a reassurance
She stretched and paused, content and full
Patiently poised to proclaim the arrival.
“Brief: This weeks Dverse quadrille challenge hosted by whimsygizmo was to craft a 44 word poem inspired by and using the word ‘quiver’
“Insight: our lovely lady-like Burmese cat, surprised us with an unexpected bundle. We kept one and 18 years later he is still soldiering on.
Ahh lady grey – almost too delicate to give birth. Lovely use for ‘quiver’

This is wonderful… I do remember when we had kittens, and the experience of those little fur balls still makes me warm
